Projects: PLANT/National Waterfront Museum
In 2003, ISO approached PLANT to assist in the design and production of a suite of several large-scale and ambitious interactive installations for the new National Waterfront Museum, Swansea. These works used sophisticated network communication software to synchronise and join projected scenes throughout the museum. Some involved very large-scale seamless projection across walls and floors. Mark Breslin at ISO was responsible for the overall graphic design and PLANT managed the interaction, production, sound and 3D modelling.
The museum interior was designed by Landesign Studios and involved full-access control consideration: every piece was subtitled and bilingual, as well as being signed in British Sign Language. Many of the works involved responses to architecture and mechanics, and used novel interaction methods. This is a short selection of these works.
