First Person Shooter

A large-scale digital print. A photograph of the area where the print will hang was taken, from a camera view marked on the floor. This image was the manipulated in a programmatically-driven compositing system in After Effects, to create a ‘Droste Effect’ fractal recursion. The composite image was output as a high resolution master to print with at a specific size. The print was then mounted in the same place as appears in the image. When viewed from the position from where the photograph was taken, the gallery and image combine spacially and pictorially.

Main image by James Houston. Others by Alan Dimmick for Glasgow School of Art.
